A new backside - Manufactured Home Reno

We’ve been busy working on the back side of the future homestead’s manufactured home. By the time we’re done with this It may as well be requalified†as a site built home. At any rate, last weekend we removed the back window of the living room and replaced it with a sliding glass door. While we […]

New Roof for the Future Homestead!

October 7, 2014

I thought i would post a quick video showing the work we did this past weekend.

We’ve started the process of putting a new roof on our mobile home that will be our future homestead.

The original roof was completely trashed due to hail damage and the vents being useless.

We were able to get felt over the entire roof and shingles on a little over 1/4 of it. Not to bad for just two of us working and neither being professional roofers.

I’ll post another video once we’ve made more progress. Don’t forget to subscribe so you’ll be notified when new posts come out.

Rebuilding the Master Closet Wall/Floor/Doors

March 17, 2015

This past weekend I worked on quite a few projects. Sunday afternoon I decided to frame out the master closet bifold†doors. The video below is part one of who knows how many videos. I started the afternoon planning on taking down the old wall and framing out the door. However, I found that the subfloor was in worse shape than I†originally thought. I was forced to remove and replace it before continuing with the wall and doors. I ended the night with the floor joists prepped and almost ready to lay the new subfloor†down. I’ll have to place blocks on the closet side for the subfloor†to nail to. This old mobile home is full of surprises.

East Texas Red Clay

How can you turn East Texas red clay into brown soil? Those of you who live or play around red clay know just how invasive it can become. You can step in it on Monday and track it all through your house on Friday. It doesn’t drain water and it is super hard and compact. […]
