Feeding EDEN: A Must Read If Your Family Has Food Allergies
My mom found a book that changed my life! After reeding Feeding EDEN, I realized I was not alone in my struggle with living everyday trying to keep my boys from eating something that could kill them or put them in the hospital. My goal every second of everyday is keeping my boys safe.
Before I had my boys, I ate whatever I wanted and never thought about it. After having them, I constantly read every ingredient in everything they eat more than once to make sure I didn’t miss anything that could harm them. Food is not safe for my boys, but I want them to be able to enjoy life without the fear of eating something that could kill them.
I do my very best to have/cook food that we all eat as a family and if they want to try something off my plate I want it to be safe for them. If we go to a birthday party, I take cookies or a treat that they can have because most of the time the cake or cookies available they can’t eat. I also keep wipes with me because if another child who has eaten dairy touches my boys they will break out in hives so I offer a wipe to the mom and ask her to please wipe their hands before playing with my boys.
I highly recommend reading this book if you or someone you know deals with food allergies. This book was such an encouragement to me. I felt understood and relieved that I was not the only one who lives life like we do everyday!
