Why This Connector Is on the Homestead

The orange positive connector is the other half of the EG4 WallMount quick-connect system. Just like the black negative connector, it plugs into the battery port and provides a clean, covered connection point for your cable. The orange color makes it easy to identify the positive side at a glance, which matters when you are working on a high-current 48V battery bank.

What Is the EG4 WallMount Connector System?

EG4 WallMount batteries use color-coded quick-connect ports instead of exposed terminals:

• Orange connector: Positive terminal (this part)
• Black connector: Negative terminal
• All-weather rated: Works for both indoor and outdoor WallMount installations
• Tool-free battery connection: Just plug in, no wrench needed on the battery side

The color coding is not just for convenience. On a 48V battery bank with multiple batteries in parallel, being able to identify positive and negative at a glance prevents wiring mistakes. A reversed connection on a lithium bank is not a gentle mistake. The orange and black system makes it obvious.

How I Use It on My System

The orange positive connector plugs into each EG4 WallMount battery and provides the cable connection for the positive side. From there, the positive cable runs to the bus bar, through the Victron Lynx M10, the Nader DC breaker, the 250A Class T fuse in the Blue Sea 5502, and out to the EG4 12000XP inverter.

Installation Tips

• Orange is always positive: Never connect the orange connector to a negative port. The color coding exists for a reason.
• Push until it clicks: A partial connection can arc under load. Make sure the connector is fully seated.
• Support the cable: Do not let cable weight stress the connector. Secure the cable within a few inches of the battery.
• Keep spares: Having a spare orange and black connector on hand means you are not waiting on shipping if one fails.
