How to Mount a Starlink Mini on Your Vehicle: A Practical Adventure
Testing The Best Starlink Mini Roof Mount

Today, we’re diving into a fun and practical project: mounting the Starlink mini satellite on a vehicle. Whether it’s an SUV or my old F250 truck, having reliable internet on the go is a game-changer. I’ll walk you through the steps I took, the challenges I faced, and how a nifty solution from Veritas Vans saved the day. So, buckle up and join me for this exciting ride!
The Journey Begins

I recently embarked on a camping trip and wanted to take the Starlink mini with me. The idea was to enjoy high-speed internet under the starlit sky. I bought the official mini roof mount, a fantastic piece of engineering. However, my old F250 didn’t have a luggage rack to attach the mount. Initially, I thought about drilling some holes in the truck’s roof, but quickly realized that’s not the wisest choice.
The DIY Challenge
Faced with this dilemma, I set out to fabricate my own solution. But before I could take drastic measures, a stroke of luck came my way. A shout-out goes to Veritas Vans for reaching out with what turned out to be the perfect fix: magnetic feet and suction cup mounts. Today, we’re putting this setup to the test.
Unboxing the Starlink Mini Roof Mount Kit

- Magnetic Feet – These are slick and surprisingly strong.
- Suction Cup Mounts – Perfect for non-magnetic surfaces.
- A Power Cable – Always a welcome inclusion.
- The Frame and Instructions – Essential for assembly.
One thing I love about this product is that it’s made right here in America. The craftsmanship is apparent, and supporting local businesses is always a plus.
Testing on the Road
When you’re testing gear like this, a suitable test vehicle is a must. Let me introduce my buddy Mitch and his incredible F150 trimmer.

On the Road Again: From Back Roads to Highways
With everything set, we hopped into the truck, eager to test out our new setup. Connection? Check. Speed test? Next up.
We set off down FM road, cruising at 65 mph. So far, so good. The mount held up under speed, but my nerves were tested as we approached the interstate, where speeds hit 85 mph. But dang if those suction cups didn’t hold strong!
Putting the Mount to the Ultimate Test

Mini Roof Mount Performance Review
The big question remained: How does the Starlink mini perform during and after such rigorous testing? Here’s what we found:
- Starlink Mini Speed: Despite the occasional obstruction like trees, we managed an impressive speed, reaching up to 112 Mbps at times.
- Mini Mount Stability: Even on uneven, muddy grounds, the setup remained stable.
- Ease of Use: Detaching the suction cups was as simple as slipping a little air under them until they popped off.
Conclusion: A Reliable Solution for Adventurers

A Big Thanks to Veritas Vans
I have to hand it to the folks over at Veritas Vans. They’ve created a product that not only solves a unique problem but does so with quality and affordability. As they wisely say, “the phone case should not be more expensive than the phone.” A sentiment that holds true here as well.
