Why 96in 2/0 AWG Battery Cables Are on the Homestead
Sometimes your battery bank layout requires longer runs than the standard 36-inch cables. These 96-inch 2/0 AWG battery cables from Signature Solar give me the flexibility to connect batteries to a remotely mounted bus bar or to wire batteries that are spaced farther apart. At 8 feet, they handle longer distances while maintaining the current capacity needed for serious off-grid systems.
I use these when wiring my six EG4 rack-mount LFP batteries to a central distribution point. The 2/0 gauge handles individual battery currents with minimal voltage drop, even over the longer 8-foot run. What Are 2/0 AWG Battery Cables?
2/0 AWG (also written as 00) sits in the middle of the heavy-duty cable range. For connecting individual batteries to a bus bar, especially over longer distances, 2/0 provides excellent current capacity with acceptable voltage drop.

How I Use These Cables on My System
Here is the complete signal path on my homestead system:
- Six EG4 rack-mount LFP batteries each connect to a common bus bar using these 96in 2/0 AWG cables
- From the bus bar, power flows through the Victron Lynx M10 distribution system
- A breaker provides overcurrent protection before the fuse block
- The 250A T-Class fuse (Blue Sea 5118 in a 5502 block) provides fast short-circuit protection
- 4/0 AWG cables run from the fuse block to the EG4 12000XP inverter
